I converted to rigid using a custom machined aircraft
structural grade alluminum (6061 T-6) I used CAD to
design it and it drops the rear exactly 4 inches and
rakes the front 3.73 more degrees. Seriously bad ass.
I'm using the stock unmodified back fender and a Harley
pipe. I have never scraped and there is absolutely no
rubbing but the bike is a serious low rider! To
describe, the change is really really drastic. The
bike went from "friendly looking thumper" to "mean evil
bad ass street chopper." Now the back fender looks
custom because it really hugs the tire nicely. It
looks like I'm sitting right on the rear wheel. The
ride is a little rougher hardtail, but the spring solo
seat really helps. Every one who sees the bike says
"damn- tricked out custom man!!" Strut took less then
10 minutes to mount, went very easy and in 10 minutes
completely transformed the bike!! I definitely
recommend this to anyone who wants their bike to
undoubtably look tricked out, custom, and mean. The
struts are available and I will have pictures soon.
Basically they are 3-D contoured kind of like a fat big
sausage with a flat machined on one side and 2 counter-
bores where the holes are. I can make them either with
1 curve in them like this - ( ) which is how mine are
or I can make them like an S shape or like a lightning
bolt but the S or lightning bolt will cost more as it
is more difficult. The material costs $30.00 each and
there are tooling and fixturing costs and take 3 hours
to make the pair. So I want $150.00 each. I'm not
really interested in making them for anyone, but I will
if anyone needs to lower their bike for a custom look.
Thanks for letting me carry on!! :)-Bryan
